Whether for their first home, their retirement home or throughout their lives: we are always at the side of our tenants and members. To thank them for their many years of loyalty, we hold our Spring Ball at Deutsches Haus every year.
This time, we invited our jubilarians and longstanding members to spend a convivial afternoon together on April 6. Of course, many of them make sure to keep this date as free as possible, as it is a cherished tradition for most of them.
Numerous helpers were already active in the run-up to the event to transform the hall into a veritable sea of flowers. The beautiful arrangements, which came from Blumen Fischer, created a festive atmosphere.
The ceremony was opened with a short speech by Michael Kohnagel. Thomas Mühlhausen led the rest of the program in his usual confident manner. Of course, the physical well-being was not neglected and all guests were able to enjoy a rich coffee table with great cakes and cake specialties
A walk down the red carpet
The most emotional moment that no spring ball should be without is, of course, the honoring of our jubilarians. Members who have been part of our cooperative for 40, 50 or even 60 years or who live in one of our apartments are allowed to walk down the red carpet and receive a special award for their loyalty. And of course we toasted our guests of honor - with a glass of sparkling wine at the bar tables in the foyer.
Dancing on the dance floor
But what would a ball be without dancing and music? Our band provided a great atmosphere with a wide variety of music and the dance floor was always full. As a show act, we welcomed ventriloquist Jörg Jara to the stage, who made the audience laugh with his program "Talk from the belly". The senior dancers "Figaro" and the rock 'n' roll formation "MC Ladies" from the Flensburg Dance Club also performed. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our guests, show acts and helpers once again for contributing to this wonderful event!
We look forward to the next Spring Ball in 2018!
