we hope you and your families are doing well! This is probably the most important question for all of us these days.
The coronavirus is affecting our lives and actions to an extent that we could not even have imagined a few weeks ago.
As a cooperative, it is our mission to be there for our members, even in these difficult times. Especially now, your own home means special protection and has therefore certainly become even more important for each of you. We must ensure that this protection remains fully available to you in the future.
Of course, the health of our members, employees, customers and business partners is our top priority. We have also taken measures to maintain our cooperative's ability to operate. Some employees are already working from home, while the necessary preparations have been made for others. For everyone, including you, this means a certain reduction in our usual service. We have closed our office building to the general public. However, most matters can be dealt with relatively easily by telephone, post, e-mail or via our customer portal. Our employees will be happy to help you in these ways.
Painting work in the stairwells, basements and unoccupied apartments will continue. We will suspend scheduled painting work in occupied apartments until further notice. Unfortunately, we also have to suspend the planned apartment modernizations that were carried out in consultation with our members. Of course, we will continue to ensure that repairs that cannot be postponed are carried out in your apartment.
The preparation of the service charge statements for 2019 is proceeding according to plan. As things stand at present, we will send these out to you in mid-April. Maintenance of the smoke alarms will also continue. The company Pyrexx has assured us that appropriate protective measures will be taken.
In the condominium management department, we have already been able to hold most of the annual condominium owners' meetings. Due to the current situation, we will not be holding any document audits, advisory board meetings or owners' meetings at the moment. The preparation of the 2019 annual accounts and the 2020 business plans is almost complete. For the further procedure, the responsible condominium administrator will contact the management committee of the respective condominium.
Please understand that we will be severely restricting our field service and will only be able to make on-site appointments in exceptional cases. However, in the interests of both parties, we ask that you keep an appropriate distance from our colleagues.
