An unfortunate event has kept us busy in recent weeks: Following an explosion, the Peter-Christian-Hansen-Weg 3 building was severely damaged at the end of May. After the police had completed their work on site, we were able to start with the safety measures on June 12, in particular with the reinforcement of the supporting structures. An inspection was also carried out with a structural engineer to discuss further work. Most of the tenants were able to return to their apartments on June 12, almost three weeks after the event. Further work is now planned for the next eight to twelve weeks. This includes minor bricklaying work, repairing damage to the insulation, installing new windows, painting work and replacing all entrance doors. The apartment in which the explosion occurred was completely destroyed and the rooms below will also have to be partially renovated after the firefighting work.

A word about insuranceFortunately, the damage is limited for most tenants - especially as the majority have taken out household contents insurance. This pays for the cleaning work that is necessary due to smoke and extinguishing water. We therefore recommend that all tenants take out such insurance so that the financial burden is limited in an emergency.

Private liability insurance, on the other hand, is an absolute must. In the event of an accident, the person responsible is liable - and this can quickly become very expensive. The appropriate insurance protects you from the consequential costs and is therefore essential for everyone. Contact person
