Whether heating, electricity or taxes: Some of the operating costs for 2017 have increased. Here we explain which adjustments are involved and what impact this has on our tenants.
Many of you will have already read about it in the newspaper: The city of Flensburg has significantly increased property tax. This will result in additional costs of 120,000 euros for our entire portfolio. Like many other homeowners, we have lodged an objection to this increase. The process is ongoing and we will of course keep you informed of the outcome. On top of this, Stadtwerke Flensburg raised electricity prices at the end of 2016. But there is also good news: the costs for district heating and water will remain stable in 2017.
We have seen minimal increases in building and glass breakage insurance and in wage costs for stairwell cleaning and garden maintenance.
How to avoid high additional payments
Unfortunately, as a cooperative, we have no influence on these cost increases. With the annual heating and operating cost statement, we adjust the advance payments accordingly based on your statement results in order to avoid high additional payments. If you have already made a large additional payment in your last statement for 2015 and this is also possible for the upcoming 2016 statement, you can increase your advance payments individually. just give us a call.
