On 30 June 2018, the time had finally come again: the annual summer festival, jointly organized by the Arbeiterwohlfahrt, the Selbsthilfe-Bauverein and the FAB, attracted numerous guests of all ages to the Sandberg between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. While the bouncy castle and face painting were enthusiastically received by the youngest, the colourful entertainment programme went down extremely well across all generations. In addition to the Marimba Steelband Flensburg, the shanty choir "De Treeneschipper" and clown "Hannes", among others, provided for cheerful swaying and happy faces. Culinary delights were also on offer: From barbecue platters and vegetarian kebabs to coffee and cake as well as cocktails in the tent at the district café, there was something for everyone. For the first time this year, the Sandberg district forum presented itself with an information stand.
For those who were not yet familiar with the Servicehaus Sandberg, guided tours of the building were given, during which questions about the AWO's service living were answered (for more information, please call 0461 1441529).
