Some time ago, we announced that the FABnet contracts would expire and that Vodafone would provide the service in future.
Unfortunately, there have been delays for technical reasons, so the connections will now be made by 30.11.2025 at the latest.
What does this mean for you?
If you opted for cable TV via the FAB last year, nothing will change. You will continue to receive the signal as before and the costs will continue to be billed with your rent or transferred by you.
Internet and telephone contracts with FABnet will continue as usual - at the previous prices.
If you change to another provider from 01.08.2025, please inform net services. Of course, you will not incur any double costs.
TV, Internet and telephone supply with Vodafone
Following an extensive tendering process, we have agreed special conditions with Vodafone for the cable TV supply. Vodafone will contact you directly in the next few weeks to discuss your individual requirements.
Fiber optics for all
Another important step is the fiber optic connection for all of the approximately 2,500 FAB apartments by Vodafone. The construction work required for this is extremely costly and complex. The contracted companies will also have to visit the individual apartments. We will of course inform you separately as soon as the work is due to be carried out in your residential complex. However, we are not yet able to provide any specific connection dates.
You have the choice
Parallel to the expansion of the fiber optic network, the high-speed coaxial cable network will remain in your apartment. Vodafone can provide Internet speeds of up to 1 gigabit via this network.
Beware of doorstep selling
Some providers are already trying to sell our tenants their own fiber optic connections. Do not be persuaded to sign a contract prematurely. Third-party providers are not given access to FAB buildings to install their own infrastructure. Together with our partners, we ensure that all homes receive a fiber optic connection. This is the only way we can avoid laying individual cables in corridors, shafts and on the facade, which could disrupt the coordinated expansion in the future.
