Having your own letterbox or apartment key with your neighbor, watering the flowers when you're away - this used to be (almost) the norm in apartment buildings.

But times have changed: Social developments mean that this neighborly relationship based on trust can hardly develop anymore.

Tenants are increasingly living anonymously, especially in larger residential complexes, and often show less interest in the other tenants in the building. Tenants no longer know each other. This is often not easy on the mind of the individual and there is a risk of loneliness. Of course, some people like to be on their own - this has to be accepted. But as a rule, friendly coexistence is preferred, not just living next door to each other.

A smile says more than 1,000 words

Don't you sometimes wish there was better cohesion in the house or a friendly neighbor who cares and takes an interest in others? You can contribute to this and it's very simple: give your neighbors a friendly smile in the hallway, elevator or on the stairs. Pay attention to your neighbors. Give someone a hand if he or she needs help. For example, if you see that a letterbox is overflowing or a window is open for a long time, approach your neighbors. Home security is also increased if you know who you live with in the same house. With this in mind, here's to good neighborliness!
