We have been continuously renewing the elevators in our residential complexes since 2016. The total cost to date is around 1.1 million euros. We decided to replace the lifts because this early work will bring the systems up to the latest safety standards and largely avoid unplanned downtime in the coming years.
This year, the elevators in the senior citizens' residential complex at Schlagbaumweg 1 and 3 are on our agenda. As the elevator cannot be used for a period of four to five weeks until the TÜV inspection, we would like to offer our residents a special service: We will provide a stair climber with operating staff at set times of the day. This enables residents with restricted mobility to leave the building and be brought back to their floor. We already practiced this approach successfully last year at Junkerhohlweg 13/13a - much to the delight of the residents there. We were supported by the AWO in communication and implementation.
