You are currently leafing through a very special magazine, because we are celebrating an anniversary: 100 issues full of exciting reports, funny, unforgettable events and interesting facts about our cooperative.
How it all began
In 1970, when the FAB had already been in existence for over nine decades, the first magazine was published, comprising just a few pages. The aim was to keep members up to date with what was happening in the cooperative. The topics of this magazine included "Why "FAB Umschau"?", "Where are we currently building?", "Who actually receives housing benefit?" and a report on the representatives' meeting on June 9, 1970.
We published this first edition with a total of 37 issues at regular intervals until 1985, when it was discontinued.
Modern new edition appears
After a few years, however, there was a desire among members and representatives to bring the Umschau back to life. This was fulfilled in September 1993 with the first issue of the new edition. This appeared in a completely new design and was far more comprehensive than the previous editions.
The topics covered in the first issue of the new edition, which marks the beginning of our 100th issue, included the misoccupancy tax, the new construction of 42 sheltered apartments for senior citizens, a tenant discussion, the allocation principles for cooperative apartments and an article on the 140th birthday of Peter Christian Hansen, the founder of the FAB.
Always up to date
Whether then or now - the Umschau takes up current topics that characterize the respective time and concern the members. Our magazine also contains relevant information about living and renting. And we want it to stay that way: We are already looking forward to another 100 issues.
