The TBZ now charges 20.60 euros per bin for special emptying if non-organic waste is found in the organic waste garbage can.
Unfortunately, individual tenants repeatedly place unauthorized objects and bin liners in the bins, which makes cleaning much more difficult. So do yourself, the environment and the waste disposal companies a favor and always ensure that waste is separated correctly - especially in the organic waste garbage can.

The waste collection bins available to FAB tenants are clearly labeled so that different types of waste can be separated for the benefit of the environment. Unfortunately, organic waste garbage cans in particular often contain waste that has no business being there. Non-organic materials such as plastic, metal, etc. are not compostable and therefore cannot be recycled in the organic waste cycle.
According to the TBZ, the following waste is clearly considered organic waste:
Kitchen waste:
- Egg shells, bread scraps
- Cooked and raw food waste
- Vegetable and fruit scraps
- Coffee grounds with filter bags
- Bones and bones
- Tea and tea bags
- Spoiled food
Garden waste:
- Grass, hedge and shrub cuttings
- Leaves, moss and wild herbs
- Withered cut and potted plants
Other waste:
- Small animal litter made from waste paper or sawdust
The TBZ clearly excludes the following waste for disposal via the organic waste containers: Plastic bags and garbage bags (also made of compostable material), plastics, mineral cat litter, residual waste, glass, ceramics, flower pots, metal, batteries, paints and varnishes, diapers, soups and sauces, food waste from restaurants.
To fill the brown organic waste containers correctly, ideally collect kitchen waste in paper bags (available in shops) or in newspaper - never in plastic bags!
