The innovative "Participation portal for a climate-neutral Flensburg 2050": As part of a research project at Kiel University, a new type of online portal was developed for cities in Schleswig-Holstein that can be used for active citizen participation in the area of local climate protection. At www.flensburg.die-lernende-stadt.de, every Flensburg resident has the opportunity to register their ideas for improving the living environment and develop them further with other citizens. The advantage is the time saved in developing ideas, as there is no need to meet in person in working groups.
Due to the high level of commitment to climate protection in Flensburg, the website has the motto: "Join in portal for a climate-neutral Flensburg 2050". This particularly pleases Henning Brüggemann, Chairman of the Flensburg Climate Pact, who sees active citizen participation as "one of the most important prerequisites for achieving the goal ofCO2 neutrality in 2050".
The three best ideas will be rewarded by the Climate Pact with project-related surprise prizes and a public announcement. The deadline for entries is June 1, 2014.
