"Does anyone actually know how we will live in the future?" This is the question posed by the new image film of the Schleswig-Holstein housing cooperatives - an association of 18 cooperatives, of which the FAB is also a member. To anticipate the abbreviated answer: For the cooperatives, future housing means not aiming for the greatest possible profit, but always keeping an eye on the needs of a changing society.
In around three and a half minutes, we show how diverse these needs are and the ways in which cooperatives are already involved. The focus is on a sense of home and freedom, as well as fairness, flexibility, honesty and climate protection. In addition to numerous members in different life situations, service providers, employees and some board members of the cooperatives involved also have their say. Real people, real opinions and an unusually clear commitment to what the cooperative model can - and cannot - achieve. Despite the relaxed and good-humored atmosphere, critical tones are also struck - including on the topics of bureaucracy and real estate speculation.
A small final note: all the scenes were filmed long before the times of corona, contact bans and social distancing rules.
