What is the energy-saving check?
The Municipal Electricity Saving Check project helps low-income households to save electricity and water in their own homes. In this way, you can not only save money, but also protect the environment.

Who is the energy-saving check for?
The energy-saving check is already available in more than 150 towns and municipalities throughout Germany - and thanks to bequa, also in Flensburg. Households on low incomes can register for the check at the bequa office.

You can use the energy saving check if you ..

  • Receive social benefits (e.g. ALG II, basic income support, child supplement or housing benefit)
  • are exempt from the obligation to pay the broadcasting fee
  • Are a pensioner with a low income
  • Are a refugee (individuals and families!)
  • have a social pass
  • have an income that is below the garnishment amount

How does the energy-saving check work?
The energy-saving helpers visit you at home, measure the electricity and water consumption of your appliances and check your consumption behavior. They will give you practical tips on how you can save energy - simply and without any building work. They also bring along energy and water-saving products worth an average of 70 euros, which can be installed directly (e.g. timers, switchable devices): Timers, switchable socket strips, water-saving shower heads or room thermometers).

The most important things, briefly summarized

  • Free energy advice with the Municipal Electricity Saving Check is only available by telephone appointment.
  • Every energy-saving helper clearly identifies themselves before entering the household!
  • Every household is informed in detail about the energy consultation process
  • The energy consultation is independent and not a sales consultation for energy-saving products, energy tariffs or similar

What is a fridge replacement?
Is your fridge or freezer old and consuming too much electricity? If you meet the relevant eligibility requirements as a participant in the energy-saving check, you will receive a 150 euro voucher to replace your refrigerator.

You too can become an energy-saving helper!
