Smoke alarms help to detect fires at an early stage, but cannot extinguish a fire, prevent a fire from starting or alert the fire department. Smoke alarms emit a loud alarm when there is a danger from fire gases, alerting you to the danger. Remember that sleeping people and animals cannot smell the deadly poisonous gases. Only three to six breaths can lead to death. The usual precautionary rules for handling fire, flammable materials and technical devices must always be observed!To ensure trouble-free operation of the devices, you should observe the following
- Cigarette smoke does not trigger an alarm unless the smoke intentionally and directly enters the smoke detector.
- Pyrexx GmbH ensures the operational readiness of the smoke detectors through annual maintenance.
- When the smoke detector sounds an alarm, please check whether there really is a source of fire.
- If the alarm readiness of the device is endangered, a regular short signal tone (help signal) will sound. In the event of this signal, please inform Pyrexx Service.
- The smoke alarms are not your property. Misuse of the devices and any resulting service costs may be charged to you.
Please note:
The environmental influences listed below can lead to the smoke detector triggering a fault alarm
- strong cooking, water and roasting fumes
- large temperature fluctuations
- Room, fragrance and insect spray
- Flower, building, sanding and fine dust
To avoid a nuisance alarm from the smoke detector, the device should be protected from such environmental influences. Careful, regular cleaning of the device with a vacuum cleaner can also help. Please inform your neighbors of a nuisance alarm so that the fire department is not alerted unnecessarily. Please ensure that the air inlets on the surrounding edge of the smoke detector are never impaired by dust, dirt, paint or adhesive tape etc.! During renovation, construction and sanding work, the smoke detector should be detached from the magnetic holder by gently pulling on the device and stored away from moisture, cold, heat, fine dust and dirt. After completing the work, please remember to snap the smoke detector back onto the magnetic carrier. The smoke detectors regularly check their operational readiness automatically. To check this function, you should trigger a short test alarm at least once a quarter by lightly pressing the lower round surface. By pressing gently on this sensor area, you can temporarily deactivate both the alarm and the help signal
